The trick: add a zero
10 × n just shifts n one place left: 10 × 14 = 140. It's the anchor every other table leans on.
Patterns in the 10s
Every answer ends in 0.
The 10 times table is the 5 times table plus the 5 times table, row by row: 10 × 6 = 5 × 6 + 5 × 6 = 30 + 30 = 60.
Each answer is 10 more than the one before, so if you know 10 × 6 = 60, then 10 × 7 is 60 + 10 = 70.
The facts people miss
These are usually the slowest of the 10s to recall. Learn them first:
- 10 × 11 = 110
- 10 × 12 = 120
- 10 × 15 = 150
