Multiplication chart 1–12

Every times table from 1 × 1 to 12 × 12 on one grid. Find a row, find a column, and the answer is where they cross. It prints on a single page — and when you'd rather not need it at all, there's a timed test at the bottom.

How to read it

Pick a number in the top row and a number in the left column. The square where that column and row meet is the product: row 7, column 8 is 56.

The grid is a mirror image across its diagonal. Row 8, column 7 is also 56, because 7 × 8 and 8 × 7 are the same fact. So of the 144 squares on the chart only 78 are different facts — and 23 of those are the × 1 and × 10 rows, which nobody has to learn. That leaves 55.

Patterns that do half the work

For the order to learn them in, and why timed practice beats worksheets, see times tables practice. Each table also has its own page with a trick and a quiz: the 7s, the 8s, the 12s and every table from 2 to 20.

It's a division chart too

Division is the same grid read backwards. For 56 ÷ 7, run along row 7 until you reach 56; the column you're in — 8 — is the answer. Every product on the chart gives you two divisions for free: 56 ÷ 7 = 8 and 56 ÷ 8 = 7. Practise those in the division speed test.

Stop needing the chart

A chart is for looking things up; the point is to stop having to. In R3CK0N, Math → Multiplication on Easy asks every fact from 2 × 2 to 12 × 12 against the clock, then shows how long each answer took. The facts that still send you back to the chart are the ones that stand out as slow.
