R3CK0N
Last updated 11 October 2026. Takes effect: 11 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and 712 Capital (“we”, “us”) for your use of R3CK0N at r3ck0n.com (“R3CK0N” or “the service”). By using R3CK0N you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
How we handle your information is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Anyone can play R3CK0N without an account.
To create an account you must be at least 13. If you are under the age at which you can agree to a contract where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
Your username is public and permanent: once chosen, you can't change it. It must be 3 to 20 letters, numbers or underscores, starting with a letter or number. It must not be offensive, impersonate anyone, or suggest that you speak for R3CK0N, and some names, such as “admin” and “support”, are reserved.
Your bio, and the names and descriptions of groups you run, are public too and follow the same rules. We may change or remove a username, bio or group name that breaks them.
R3CK0N measures how fast and accurately you calculate, so results only mean something if they are really yours. You agree not to:
Results are checked automatically, and results that fail the checks don't count. The Daily Challenge allows one scored attempt per player per day, and each day starts at midnight UTC; a group race allows one attempt per member. If we believe someone has cheated, we may remove their results, reset their rating, or suspend or close their account.
Leaderboards, leagues and the community boss may leave out or remove results that look implausible, and accounts that cheat may be removed from them.
Friends, groups, challenges, the activity feed and public profiles only work if people can trust them. Don't use R3CK0N to harass, threaten, spam or impersonate anyone, or to share anything illegal or hateful, and don't use friend requests, challenges or groups to pressure people. You can block any player, and report them to our moderators, who review reports.
We may remove content, change a username, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we may act to protect other players without waiting for a report.
Other players can see your username, your public profile and recent activity (unless you turn your profile off), your place on leaderboards and group boards, your Daily Challenge results, and your recorded Arena runs, which are replayed as opponents for other players. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what each of these shows.
Shells, Battle Packs, battle items, companion pets, XP, levels, ranks, trophies, daily chests and league divisions are features of the game, earned by playing. They can't be bought with money, have no monetary value, can't be exchanged for money or anything else, and can't be moved between accounts. We may change, rebalance or reset them, for example when a new Arena season starts a fresh ladder.
Progress made while signed out lives only in your browser. If the browser's data is cleared, it is gone and we can't recover it. Sign in, or use Settings → Data → Export data, to keep a copy.
Gems are R3CK0N's paid currency. You can buy them in bundles through Stripe, members receive some each month, and some are given as prizes. Gems buy cosmetics only: avatar frames, profile banners, titles, pet skins, themes and music styles. They never buy Shells, battle items or anything that changes how a game is scored, and Shells never buy what is sold for Gems.
Gems and the cosmetics you get with them are a limited, personal licence to use those features in R3CK0N. They are not money or property, have no cash value, can't be sold, traded, transferred between accounts or exchanged back for money, and are forfeited if your account is deleted or closed under these terms. A purchase is complete when the Gems appear in your balance. Gem purchases are final, except where the law requires a refund. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can cancel a Gem bundle within 14 days of buying it for a full refund as long as none of its Gems have been spent; once you spend Gems from it, you lose that right, because the content has been delivered at your request.
If a payment for Gems is refunded or disputed, we remove those Gems from your balance, which can go below zero; a balance below zero can't be spent until it is topped up.
Prism Packs contain three cosmetic items chosen at random. Before you buy one, the shop shows the chance of each rarity per item, that a pack only contains items you don't already own, and how many packs remain until one is guaranteed to hold an epic or better item. Opening a pack spends its Gem price whatever it contains. Packs never contain anything that affects gameplay.
Who can buy. Players under 13 can't make purchases. Players aged 13 to 17 need a parent's or guardian's permission and can buy Gems and individual items, but not Prism Packs. Prism Packs are for players 18 and over, and aren't sold in countries whose law restricts paid random items (currently Belgium and the Netherlands). Before a first purchase you confirm which of these applies to you.
We may change the shop: which items are sold, featured or in packs, and their Gem prices. A change never takes away an item you already own.
The Season Pass. Each season runs for the dates shown on the Season Pass screen and has 30 levels. You earn XP by playing (synced drill runs, the Daily, Arena matches and Monthly Cup rounds), up to a daily limit; results that fail our fair-play checks don't count. The free track is open to every signed-in player. The premium track costs 950 Gems for one season, counts levels you have already reached in that season, and is sold only while the season runs. It can't be refunded or moved to another season. It is included with Legend and Patron memberships for as long as you hold one of those tiers.
Rewards are cosmetics and Gems, covered by the section on Gems above, and are yours to keep once claimed, even if a membership that included the premium track ends. Claim them on the Season Pass screen until 7 days after the season ends; anything you reached but didn't claim by then is added to your account automatically. We may change how XP is earned, or the rewards of a season that hasn't started yet, and we may take back XP or rewards gained by cheating.
Members' drops. Each calendar month (UTC), members can claim that month's cosmetic pieces for their tier and the tiers below it. Drop pieces are never sold and can only be claimed during their month, while you hold the tier; a month that passes unclaimed isn't offered again. Claimed pieces are yours to keep.
Signed-in players aged 13 or over can share a personal invite link. When someone makes a new account through your link (or enters your code in their account's first 7 days), they get 100 Gems after their first 5 drills, and you get 150 Gems. If, after that, their first paid membership is not refunded or disputed within 14 days, you get 500 more Gems. Reaching 3, 10 and 25 friends who finished their drills unlocks a title, a frame and a banner. Rewards are Gems and cosmetic items only: they are never money or membership time and have no cash value, as described under Gems.
You can be rewarded for at most 20 friends a month. No rewards are given for your own accounts, for accounts created from the same network as yours at about the same time, or when a friend pays with your card, and we may void a referral we believe abuses the program; Gems and items already granted are kept. Don't spam your link or offer anything in exchange for using it. We can change or end the program at any time; rewards already granted stay yours.
The Monthly Cup is a skill contest run by us, the operator of R3CK0N. These rules apply to it.
The AI coach gives feedback on mock-interview answers, explains questions you missed, and turns notes you paste into flashcards. It is generated by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) and can be wrong: check what it says against the worked solutions, and don't rely on it for anything that matters beyond practice. Don't paste personal information into it. Each account gets a number of coach requests a month that depends on its membership; a request that fails doesn't count. The coach isn't available to players under 13.
Classroom is a separate paid plan for teachers, billed monthly or yearly through Stripe and renewing until you cancel, like memberships. It lets you create classes that students join with a code, set drill assignments, see your students' drill results on a class dashboard, download class reports, and use your own question sets in party games. Students don't pay and don't need a membership.
By buying Classroom you confirm that you are an adult teaching or running the class or group, and that you have the authority to invite its students, including, for students under 13, the consent of their school or parents for them to use R3CK0N for your class. You agree to use what the dashboard shows only for teaching that class, to keep downloaded reports secure, and to delete them when you no longer need them.
If the plan ends, your classes become read-only: you can still see results up to the day it ended, but no new results reach you and students can't join. You can delete a class at any time. A class on a plan that has ended isn't deleted automatically. Classroom payments follow the same refund rules as memberships, below.
R3CK0N is free to play. Memberships are optional paid subscriptions that support it and add perks. Memberships never limit the game itself: every drill and mode, and today's and yesterday's dailies, stay free; Pro adds the archive of older dailies and replays of past Daily Challenges. There are four tiers, Supporter, Pro, Legend and Patron, each billed monthly or yearly, and Patron can also be bought once as Lifetime Patron (below). The current prices and what each tier includes are on the membership page, and the price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
On the website, memberships are billed through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; in the iPhone app they are billed by Apple (see Purchases in the iPhone app). You can manage a website membership at any time from your account screen.
Cancelling. Open your membership on your account screen and choose Cancel membership. We may ask why you're leaving (answering is optional) and suggest alternatives such as a pause or a cheaper plan, but you can always cancel straight away. Your membership then ends at the end of the billing period you've already paid for, your perks continue until then, and you won't be charged again. Until that date you can undo the cancellation with Resume membership. We don't refund the unused part of a period, except as described under Refunds below or where the law requires it.
Pausing. A monthly membership can be paused for 1, 2 or 3 months. The pause starts when the period you've already paid for ends. While it is paused you aren't charged and member perks are unavailable (a supporter avatar you already chose stays). It resumes by itself on the date we show you, and the monthly price is charged again from then. You can resume earlier: if the pause has already started, resuming starts a new monthly period that day and charges for it then. Yearly memberships can't be paused.
Changing plans. If you switch to a cheaper plan, the change takes effect straight away and the unused part of your current period is credited against future payments. If you switch from monthly to yearly billing, you're charged the yearly price straight away, less a credit for the unused part of the current month; if that payment fails, nothing changes. A founding member's launch price applies to the plan it was given on; a new plan is billed at its current price.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we email you about it once and our payment processor retries your card over the following days; your perks continue while it retries. If every retry fails, your membership ends.
Welcome-back offers. If you agreed to receive product news, we may email you once after a membership ends, sometimes with a discount on rejoining. A discount applies only through the link in that email, only to the account it was sent to, for 30 days, on the terms stated in the email and shown at checkout.
Perks. Perks are part of the service, not separate goods: they have no cash value and end with the membership, except where it says otherwise below.
Lifetime Patron. Lifetime Patron is Patron paid for once instead of monthly or yearly. It never renews and lasts for as long as R3CK0N runs and your account exists: it belongs to your account, can't be transferred or sold, and ends if you delete your account or we close it under these terms. It gives the Patron perks as they are at the time, which may change like any tier's. If a Lifetime payment is fully refunded or charged back, Lifetime Patron ends. If you also have a membership that renews, it keeps renewing until you turn renewal off under Manage membership; we don't cancel it for you. Lifetime Patron follows the refund rules under Refunds below. If we ever decide to close R3CK0N, we will tell Lifetime Patrons by email and in the app at least 90 days before it closes, and you will be able to download your data until then.
Thank-you month. As a thank-you, we sometimes refund a new member's first monthly payment in full, on website memberships only. It isn't advertised or promised beforehand and not every new member gets it (see the Privacy Policy on testing changes): everyone pays the price shown at checkout, and if yours is one we refund, we tell you after you have paid, on your account screen and by email. We then refund it when your first month ends, or as soon as you cancel during that month, whichever comes first. Your membership continues until the end of the first month either way, and after that renews at the monthly price until you cancel; we email you about a week before that first renewal. It happens at most once per account and once per payment card, including across different accounts, and only on a first monthly membership. If the first payment is disputed with your bank or card issuer before we refund it, we won't also refund it. Refunds go back to the original payment method and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.
Gift memberships. You can buy a year of any tier as a gift. A gift is paid once, never renews, and comes as a code anyone can redeem once; redeeming it gives that tier for a year from the day it is redeemed (or from the end of a gift you already have). A redeemed gift runs alongside any paid membership rather than pausing it, so turn off renewal first if you want the gift instead. Keep a gift code safe: whoever has it can redeem it. A gift whose payment is fully refunded or charged back is cancelled, and if it was already redeemed, the membership it gave ends. A gift can be refunded within 14 days of purchase if its code hasn't been redeemed; once it's redeemed, it can't be refunded.
We may change the perks or prices of future periods. We will tell you before a price change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you.
Refunds. Payments for memberships, Lifetime Patron and gifts are non-refundable except as described here or where the law requires otherwise. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can cancel a new membership or a Lifetime Patron purchase within 14 days of your first payment by emailing support@r3ck0n.com, and we will refund it in full; by buying, you ask us to start the membership straight away. If a free T-shirt has already shipped, we deduct the T-shirt's price in our merch shop from that refund. Purchases made in the iPhone app are refunded by Apple under its own rules. Taxes. Where we must collect sales tax or VAT, it is calculated at checkout and shown before you pay. Purchases in the iPhone app are taxed by Apple.
Memberships, Lifetime Patron and Gems bought in the iPhone app are sold through Apple's App Store, at the prices the App Store shows in your currency, and are also subject to Apple's terms (Apple's standard licence agreement). Payment is charged to your Apple account.
R3CK0N's software, design, text and graphics belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. As long as you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use R3CK0N for practice, play and teaching. Don't copy, resell or redistribute the service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to.
R3CK0N is built on open-source software, which stays under its own licences. Credit for other people's work is on the About page.
What you enter, such as your username, your bio, a group's name and description, or the details of a report, stays yours. You give us permission to store, display and use it to run R3CK0N (for example, to show your username on a leaderboard) for as long as it is in the service.
Signing in with Google or another provider, and paying through Stripe, are also governed by those companies' own terms. We aren't responsible for services we don't run.
R3CK0N is a young project and will keep changing. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be interrupted or unavailable. If we ever stop offering R3CK0N, we will give signed-in players reasonable notice where we can.
You can stop using R3CK0N at any time, and delete your account yourself from your account screen (cancel your membership first, if you have one); the Privacy Policy says what that removes. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other players or the service. Parts of these terms that by their nature should continue after that (ownership, disclaimers, limits on liability, and governing law) continue.
R3CK0N is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises about it, express or implied: not that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, not that it will suit a particular purpose, and not that your data will never be lost. Nor do we promise any particular result from using it, such as better grades, test scores or interview outcomes.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of R3CK0N. Our total liability to you for any claim about R3CK0N is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be limited by contract.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be decided by the courts of the State of New York, USA, sitting in New York County, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to put things right.
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell signed-in players about significant changes before they take effect. We announce a significant change with a notice in the app and an email to account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using R3CK0N after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, stop using the service and delete your account.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given up the right to. We may transfer these terms as part of a merger, sale or other transfer of R3CK0N; you may not transfer them. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about R3CK0N.
Questions about these terms: support@r3ck0n.com.
